YELLOW FLOWERS

Last night I dreamed
I saw you
and you looked in my eyes
and it felt the same
that flip in my chest
except you'd colored
your hair
and I told you it looked awful
and you kissed me
like the first time
and it felt the same
that flip in my chest
except this time
I did lay you down
in those weeds
yellow flowers
excellent dream
then I woke up
and it felt the same
that hole in my chest
except now I wish
I could tell you
never dye your hair red.
